Henley take Twyford to task

HENLEY TOWN ran out 4-2 winners in their Division 3 clash at TWYFORD AND RUSCOMBE.

The home side started the game the better and went 1-0 up inside 10 minutes when a ball over the top found their striker whose shot went in off the post.

Twyford were reduced to 10 men after 25 minutes when their goalscorer was shown a straight red card for head-butting.

From that point on Henley controlled the game and it didn’t take long for them to make the advantage count when a Dan York cross found Ram Kumar who took the ball down well on the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful shot into the bottom right to make it 1-1.

Henley’s second goal came shortly after and it was again a York cross that found Kumar who headed home his second of the game. Just before half-time Henley made it 3-1 when a York low ball across goal found Dan Chalfont who tapped home.

In the second half Twyford started better and could of scored but was denied when Lucas Romero Jinks made two good saves. Twyford missed a good chance to reduce the arrears when they were awarded a penalty but the kick went wide.

Henley made it 4-1 when an Arran Finch low ball across the box found Jack Patterson who fired home. Twyford pulled a goal back with the last kick off the game.
