08/02/2020
HENLEY TOWN made it through to the quarter-finals of the Intermediate Cup after winning 6-4 away at Division 2 rivals DATCHET VILLAGE.
Liam Painter put Henley ahead after just four minutes from a long range free kick.
Town doubled their lead six minutes later when Rowan Stacey scored from a long-range shot.
The home side pulled a goal back before Painter netted his second of the game to put Henley 3-1 up. The visitors increased their lead to 4-1 when Stacey netted his second of the game after 25 minutes. Five minutes before the interval Nathan Horder saw his long-range shot find the back of the net before the hosts pulled another goal back to leave Henley 5-2 up.
Seven minutes into the second half Daniel Chalfont outpaced a home defender to put Henley 6-2 up.
However, with a strong wind now behind the home side, the home side pulled two goals back to make it 6-4 and with time running out Alex Harris White had to leave the pitch injured for Henley.
